When here are wo levels of nesng, balancng he observaons among all he branches of he nesed desgn resuls n D-opmal desgns for ML esmaon excep n a few relavely uncommon suaons. If dsperson effecs are par of he model and here are wo levels of nesng, hen nearly D-opmal desgns for a gven budge are provded.
