3 This is the second book of the series. I highly recommend reading "A Charming Crime" first as it helps you with extra background on all the wonderful characters. I fell in love with Whispering Falls and downloaded this book within a few minutes of finishing " A Charming Crime".Graphic Violence, Swear Words and Sex: None is this book.plot: June Heal lives in the town of Whispering Fall, which is a town full of magical citizens. Most of them run a quaint shop relating to their particular magical ability. June's Aunt Helena is the dean of Hidden Hall and arrives in Whispering Falls to let June know she must attend the school for the magically gifted within a few days. June takes her cat, Mr Prince Charming and her crystal ball, Madame Torres with her to Hidden Hall. Without giving the plot away, mayhem follows June to school and she is in the middle of it. She is suspected of wrong doing and must rescue a friend and prove her innocence.characters: Wow... I love them all. They are developed enough to make me want more, yet the author doesn't bore me with too much background. I like the fact that many of the characters from the first book have even more depth in the second book. In the real world, I don't like a new person that I have met to tell me their life story in the first hour. I like to learn their history over time, it makes them more interesting.i would say that the quaint shops and owners are still my favorite characters although I enjoyed the characters at the school. To me... the characters MADE this book fantastic.editing: There may have been a few grammatical errors, but they did not stand out to me.i anxiously await the next novel in the Charming series. More of part one, with new mysteries and trouble - this time at the witch school. Poor June gets blamed or framed for everything, and has to figure out the real criminal herself. Good character development; love Mr. Prince Charming (just hate the name! Couldn't it be abbreviated or give him a nickname??). Tonya writes a good story and tells a great tale. Still think the community is too oblivious and gullible. Definitely a series to follow. I have now read both A Charming Cure and A Charming Crime, and loved both of them. There was good character development, and both stories were really good stories. The biggest problem I had with both of these is the lack of editing. Though far from perfect, I am one of those readers who notices every mistake. Because of that, I would offer Ms. Kappes my free proofreading/editing skills on both of these books if she wanted to re=print them. 4 I had previously read A Charming Crime - Tonya's first book in the Magical Cures Mystery series - and enjoyed it very much. So, when I saw that there was a new installment, I just had to check it out. I was pleasantly surprised that I not only liked it as well, but I enjoyed it even more. The characters from the first book developed so well in this one, and I enjoyed meeting the new characters, as well. I love June's fairy god-cat Mr. Prince Charming and her snarky crystal ball Madam Torres, and I was very happy with the way things are going with Oscar. The quirky characters of Whispering Falls felt like old friends and I certainly hope there will be another book in this series. I highly recommend this series. I was not disappointed with this book. Again it was hard to put down. This author is witty and has a way to keep you guessing who the bad guys are to the end and you will be surprised.i rate this book again with high fives. First thoughts after...ready for the short story A Charming Potion!!!How Distracted did I get????i wish I lived in Whispering Falls. Such a charming town with wonderful characters. And June discovers the needs to go to a magical university! At 25 it's tough with all the babies! That and someone trying to destroy the entire magical world! As always Tonya wraps you up in a wonderfully told tale that is warm and cozy. Cuddle up with your fave blanket and enjoy this wonderful world. Filled with interesting characters and a lively mystery. I really enjoyed the unique magical village, as well as the hidden magical university. The only distraction from complete reader heaven were a few editorial errors, otherwise this story was a everything a cozy mystery reader could hope for: great writing, interesting characters, well-developed plot, and good humor. I will be reading everything in this series, for sure. Well I'm not going to tell you about this book because that's what the blurb is for.. I will however tell you why I love it..i like how June goes into situations when she isnt sure of what to expect..even when she's terrified. Her character is developing nicely as she is learning how to use her "special" gifts. I like how Oscar is evolving into his own,and maybe get together with June??? Such another fun read that I would highly recommend..i am continuing the adventure in book 3..
