5 How I, Daughter of Hercules, Played A Part in Creating a Monster! Beau Bufford was a normal teenager at one time. However, he was a big bully who liked to call his classmates foul names. One day, Zeus saw Beau picking on other kids and decided he would teach him a lesson. He sent me, his son Hercules s daughter, disguised as a wimpy 6 th grader. I accidentally bumped into Beau. Beau was so angered by being run into that he turned around, grabbed me by my shirt collar, and pulled back his fist to pound it into my face. Suddenly, I grabbed Beau s arm and forced it behind his back. He wasn t expecting this from a 6 th grader, let alone a mere girl, but because of my incredible strength, thanks to my father s genetics, I was able to turn the tables on Beau. Beau, arm behind his back, was so angry that he turned and spit in my face, calling me a really, really bad name. Well, I could have easily have hurt Beau, but instead I wiped Beau s spit off my face and tossed that loser, Beau, into a trashcan. As Beau was pulling himself out of the trashcan to come after me, my grandfather, Zeus, cursed Beau. When Beau shouted out that he was going to beat the crap out of me, Beau smelt something funny. Beau s head started to rot. His skin turned the color of brownish mold and his teeth became greenish yellow and yellow funny-tasting liquid dripped down his chin. His nose smelled and looked like rotten fish, and his lips had the texture of potato peels left at the bottom of a trashcan. His fists that he had intended to use against me had turned into mushy feeling banana-brown fingers. He ran into the bathroom and saw his hideous face and hands. He hid out in a bathroom stall for a while until the smell of fish started to disappear. He eventually ventured out of the stall and saw in the mirror that he turned back into a normal teenager. He thought that he was hallucinating about his transformation, so he once again was stupid enough to go after me. No sooner had he called out to me, again using a foul name, when he felt his flesh begin to transform. Zeus had cursed him so that as long as he continued to bully other kids, his outsides would become as rotten as his insides and his mouth truly would be a potty mouth. Unfortunately, Beau did not initially learn his lesson and as he continued to try to bully other kids, his rottenness would last longer and longer and spread to other parts of his body. Eventually, Beau just stayed rotten all the time. Everyone started calling him the Beaufordian Monster. Kids hid from him because they were afraid of him, which made him even more of a monster. However, as his appearance got worse and worse, instead of kids being afraid of him, they turned the table on him and started making fun of him. His mushy fingers and putrid smelling face made it hard for him to continue to be a bully. Instead of bullying others, he became the target of other bullies. Hiding in the bathroom one day plotting how to get back at the kids who had turned on him, he caught his reflection in the mirror and finally realized that he was as rotten a person on the outside as he was on the inside. He also got tired of smelling like rotting fish. Beau realized that I must be a demi-god, so he begged me to talk to my grandfather to end his curse. He promised me he would NEVER bully anyone again and would champion anyone who was the target of a bully. I agreed and spoke with my father, who then spoke with his father, Zeus. Zeus agreed, on the condition that Beau would do Zeus a service. He was angered by all the bullying at school and the foul language used by those bullies. He transformed Beau into a school principal (but he really was still the Beaufordian Monster). Beau had retained his yellow liquid in his mouth and when he heard a bully using potty-mouthed language on another student, he would spit his yellow liquid on the bully, changing him or her into middle school bathroom toilet. So, next time you go to the bathroom here at school, you might just be sitting on one of Beau s victims.

6 My dad and me: Hercules & Misty

7 More than 70 movies have been made about Hercules. Although born a mortal, he gained immortality when he tried to burn himself to death on his own funeral pyre. Killed two giant snakes (sent by Hera to kill him) with just his bare hands when he was still an infant. (Otfinoski 46-53) Hercules chose a life of hardship, danger, glory, and virtue over a life of ease. (Felson)
