3 - 3 - A gold concentrator is treating 80 t/h of gold ore assaying 5 g/t Au. The concentrate and tailings produced an average of 400 g/t and 0.2 g/t respectively. The concentrator is operating 10 hours per day. 4 - 4 - As a consultant to Parit Buntar Mining Sdn. Bhd., you are required to propose a flowsheet to treat an alluvial tin (cassiterite) deposit where it is mined by gravel pump method. Various sizes (-1.0 cm) of cassiterite, heavy minerals (ilmenite, rutile, hematite and pyrite) clay, siliceous sand and pebbles were present in the ore. 5 - 5 - You have been appointed as the process engineer in amang plant and given the responsibility to design a suitable process flowsheet for the treatment of the amang containing liberated particle of mineral ilmenite, zircon, monazite and rutile. All the mineral particles were found to be approximately in the same size range of µm. Proposed a suitable process flowsheet, for the concentration of these minerals separately. 8 A certain concentrator treats an ore containing galena, sphalerite and pyrite. The ore is first crushed to pass 20 mm, and the fraction ( ) mm size is concentrated by dense medium separation; the concentrate is then reduced to 100 µm and treated by flotation to produce separate concentrates of galena and sphalerite. The reagents used (not necessarily in order) are: - Sodium ethyl xanthate - alcohol frother - lime - sodium cynide - copper sulphate Suatu bijih mengandungi galena, sphalerite dan pirit perlu dirawat di dalam sebuah loji pengkonsentratan. Determine its limitation and suggest typical minerals which can be separated with them.
