4 History At Fireball, roughly 190 holes have been drilled, almost all of them relatively shallow. Interestingly however, a quick review of this drilling in relationship to a cymoid loop model shows that a number of structural targets remain untested, even at the shallow depths at which this drilling was concentrated. This is true at the northern mineralized zone, where several strands of a probable cymoid-loop system remain open-ended or untested, as well as in the southern area, where a high-grade vein strand intersected by two holes remains open-ended to the north, south, and at depth. This illustrates the difference that a good structural model can make in drilling for high-grade vein systems. A review of the full length of the Fireball Ridge fault system reveals additional locations where fault steps and cymoid loops remain untested by drilling. One of these loops may occur near the north end of the explored structure, where the range front shifts to a north-south trend, possibly signaling the presence of a more significant cross structure. In summary, previous exploration at Fireball Ridge has defined a number of low to moderate-grade gold occurrences along a 6-km-long fault/vein system. Previous explorers were aware of the volcanic-hosted epithermal character of mineralization, but most efforts were focused on near-surface resources and the structural model had not been fully developed. Very few holes were drilled to depths (>600 ft) necessary to test for a deeper boiling horizon, and the few that were drilled to that depth appear to have missed their target because hole placement did not account for the expected changes in strike and dip of cymoid loop structures with depth. By leveraging the recent knowledge of structural controls gained from northern Nevada vein systems of similar age, it should be possible to effectively test for deeper boiling horizons that could host high-grade gold mineralization. Electrical surveys may also be effective for targeting such systems based on recent experience at Fire Creek. 4
