1 ZSFG Human Resources Services Report Submitted to the Joint Conference Committee (June, 2017) Report Contents: Vacancy Report Summary of Hiring Status (Vacancy rate over 10%) 1) Total hospital vacancies continue to decrease and we are now down to 9.04% as of June 13, 2017, from 9.24% last month, sixty-one (61) hires made between May 13, 2017 and June 13, ) Conduct weekly meetings with the hospital executive team to review the hiring status of ZSFG positions. 3) Current RN hiring status in critical areas: Emergency Care Unit Experience Specialty Ten (10) vacancies to fill. Interviews are ongoing and selections pending for tentative start work date of July 24, Training Program- Eleven (11) vacancies to fill (ten (10) moved from Experience). Interviews ongoing held simultaneously with Experience. Selections are scheduled for start work date in August 2017, with training date to follow. Critical Care Unit Experience Specialty Ongoing recruitment challenges. However, three (3) vacancies in ICU were filled with tentative start work date of July 10, There are twenty-three (23) remaining vacancies (seventeen (17) in ICU & six (6) in PACU) to fill. Hiring Managers are currently reviewing applicants from recent job fair for formal interviews and possible selection. Will continue to work with Recruiter to expand applicant pool. Training Program Six (6) vacancies added this month totaling twelve (12) vacancies. Four (4) selections made last month with start work date in the training program June 12, Six (6) to be filled with reassignments for the training program scheduled in October The two (2) remaining vacancies will be filled with the next applicant pool. Med/Surgical Unit Experience Specialty Six (6) vacancies remaining, nine (9) selections made with tentative start work date of July 24, Training Program Training program in progress for the seven (7) new grads, remaining hires were transitioned from Per Diem (P103). OR Unit: Experience Specialty: Two (2) vacancies remaining to be filled. Vacancies will be changed to training to hire from training specialty. Training program - Two (2) vacancies (changed from experienced) to fill. Both vacancies filled with tentative start date of July 24, ) Food and Nutrition Services recently closed several key recruitments, Director of FNS, Chef, Food Service Manager Administrator and Cooks. Director of FNS, interviews scheduled for June 28, 2017; Chef, interviews scheduled for the week of June 26, 2017; Food Service Manager Administrator, interviews concluded, selection made with tentative start work date of July 1, 2017; Cooks, two (2) vacancies with interviews currently in progress. 2 ZSFG Human Resources Services Report Submitted to the Joint Conference Committee (June, 2017) 5) Hospital hosted a clinical job fair on Saturday, June 17 th in the cafeteria targeting RN s, LVN, MEA and NP s. Our Recruiter sourced over 200 people from Indeed, LinkedIn, various associations and schools. Approximately 135 responded expressing interest and we had close to 80 that actually attended the job fair. Several Nurse Managers participated in the job fair conducting informal interviews with candidates covering several specialties, i.e., Med/Surg, Critical Care, Ambulatory Care, ICU, Psych, and UM. We connected with close to 60 RN s in different specialties but mainly in Med/Surg, close to 10 NP s and the remaining were LVN s and MEA s. Managers are currently following up with these applicants for formal interviews. 6) Hospital Recruiter, Nurse Educator and HR will be attending the National Black Nurses Association Conference next month to promote diversity and recruit for RN s and other key leadership and hard to fill clinical positions. Approximately, 1500 are currently registered to attend and counting with over 200 hundred vendors. Page 2 of 2 6/21/2017
