4 Countries covered Establishing Geo-DRM Installed Geo-DRM systems in the Cook Islands, Fiji, Mongolia, Nepal and Kyrgyzstan. An open source Geo-DRM integrates geospatial data and socio-economic information,. It is a highly effective tool in supporting evidencebased decision making for preparedness, and rapid analysis/impact assessment of disasters SAARC Sub-regional Training on Development of Georeferenced Disaster Risk Management Information Systems for SAARC countries in India for August 2013 Around 14 participants Introduced geo-referenced information systems for disaster risk management in SAARC region Enhanced the capacity of SAARC government officials in using space technology and GIS applications for disaster risk reduction.

5 SAARC Partner organization: Center for Space Science and Technology Education in Asia and the Pacific (CSSTEAP) Pacific Countries Sub-regional Training Workshop on Geo-Disaster Risk Management (DRM) System for Pacific Countries in the Cook Islands, 2-6 September 2013 Around 28 participants Established geo-portal for disaster risk management in the Cook Islands Enhanced the capacity of 7 Pacific government officials in using space technology and GIS applications for disaster risk reduction.

6 Pacific Countries Partner organization: Emergency Management Cook Islands, Office of the Prime Minister in the Cook Islands KOICA-ESCAP Joint Training Programme on Capacity Building on Space Technology and GIS Applications for Disaster Risk Reduction in Korea in October participants Enhanced the knowledge and capacity on geoportal for disaster risk management Enhanced the capacity in using space technology and GIS applications for disaster risk reduction.

11 Kyrgyzstan Partner organization: Ministry of Emergency Situations Nepal Technical Assistance on Establishing and Using the Geo-DRM for Disaster Risk Reduction in Nepal in March participants Supported the established geo-portal for disaster risk management in Nepal Provided further training on using space technology and GIS applications for disaster risk reduction.
