2 The Living Environment Sept Key Idea 3: Individual organisms and species change over time. How does using my senses help me learn? How does seeing help me learn? How does hearing help me learn? How does tasting help me learn? We use the eyes to see. We use the ears to hear. We use the tongue to taste. The tongue can recognize four tastes-bitter, salty, sour, sweet. We use the nose to smell. 7 The Living Environment March/April Key Idea 1: Living things are both similar to and different from each other and from nonliving things. What is a plant? What are the parts of a plant? How do leaves differ from each other? Where do seeds come from? What do plants need to grow? What is the life cycle of a plant? Compare different kinds of plants The parts of a plant Leaves can look the same or can look different A plant s seed are found in its fruit or flower Plants need air, light, nutrients, and water to grow plants. Plants change in size No two plants are exactly the same.
