1 Using the CGGE Materials in Advanced Placement Human Geography Classes About the CGGE: The AAG Center for Global Geography Education (CGGE) is a collection of online modules for undergraduate courses in geography and related social and environmental sciences. CGGE modules provide content and activities for teaching geographic issues from an international perspective. The s Population & Natural Resources Global Climate Change Water Resources Migration National Identity Global Economy About the Modules: Each module consists of a conceptual framework and case studies. The conceptual framework introduces students to some of the key concepts, theories, and analytical approaches in geography. The conceptual framework provides students with the background they need to think geographically about global issues. The case studies illustrate how geographic concepts, methods, and technologies can be used to investigate and solve problems in different places and countries. Some of the modules utilize the AAG s ARGWorld animations to illustrate geographic concepts. To run the ARGWorld animations, the Adobe Shockwave player needs to be installed (installation instructions are provided). Each module includes activities, which are found in the conceptual framework/case studies or at the CGGE elearning Moodle page. The Moodle activities can be adapted for in-classroom use. About this Guide: This guide is designed to assist Advanced Placement Human Geography teachers in selecting materials from the CGGE modules that correspond to the APHG curriculum.
