Specifically, I am interested in urban spatial patterns and their implications for social justice, equity, and sustainability, particularly in older industrial cities such as Detroit. As a researcher I fall along the overlap between urban geography and urban planning. Much of my recent research has focused on local and alternative food systems and access to food in low income urban areas. 5 E c k e r t
