1 STUDY/LEARNING/EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM Study Program: GEOGRAPHY Fundamental Field: MATHEMATICS AND NATURAL SCIENCES Licence Program field: GEOGRAPHY Faculty of Chemistry, Biology, Geography Study duration: 3 years Study form study program with mandatory attendance (IF)
2 1. COMPETENCIES AND FORMATIVE OBJECTIVES The main objective of the program: Achieving the main and fundamental concepts of geography, developing geographic knowledge and the usage of interdisciplinarly techniques in the geographic analysis as well as in the natural and human environmental analysis and assessment. The objective and the competence profile is designed in line with the labour market needs and with the national frame of qualifications/skills; they are detailed below and expanded in each disciplines documents included in the learning program. Particular objectives The usage of the main concepts and definitions within theoretical groundwork understanding, as well as the differnet types of realtions betewwn the contemporary geographic systems whether they are narural and/or anthropic. The knowledge and understanding of the main characteheristics of geographic taxonomies and of the environment dynamics. Knowledge on environmemt components polution as well as of different types of polution and environment degradation. Knowledge on the long term imediate consequences of degradation processes as well as on the main interventions in their correction. Training human capital in order to participate in post-graduate study programs. Professional competencies (according to RNCIS) CP1. Defining the main notions, concepts, processes and phenomena of geography, explaining their genesis, evolution and dynamics, the assessment of their consequences on the natural and anthropic geographic systems. CP2. Using particular methods in data collecting and processing provided by different sources. CP3. Designing cartographic materials in line with the theoretical background and various databases. CP4. Designing specialized research projects CP5. Capitalization of the results provided by varoius studies, analyses, and research projects. CP6. Ensuring professional assistancein variuos geographic domains Transversal competencies (according to RNCIS recommendation) CT1. Applying efficient and responsible work strategies based on the particular principles, norms and values of the professional ethics code. CT2. Applying efficient work strategies based on multidisciplinarly team, a constructive attitude towards the group working, respect towards diversity and multiculturality. CT3. The personal continous training needs assesment in order to insert and adapt the graduate students in the labour market according to their requests.
3 2. ENSURING LEARNING FLEXIBILITY. Learning flexibility is ensured through optional, facultative and complementary courses. Optional courses are designed for 3rd and 6th semesters being grouped in optional sets of courses that complete the specialized training program of the student before the beginning of the academic year. Facultative courses are designed from 1st to 6th semesters both by the departement and by the faculty that manage the study programes but there are also possibilities to choose some courses from the sets of courses provided by other faculties. Organizing complementary courses: within the study program of each specialization will be selected the modules and their respectively number of hours and then the course name will be inserted in the personal matrixol register according to the students option made by the list of complementary courses aproved by the UVT Council. They are available on the official institutional webpage ( It includes the complementary courses proposed by each faculty according to Regulamentul privitor la elaborarea planurilor de învăţământ pentru programele de studiu din UVT : Modul A (Mathematics and Natural sciences); Modul B (Social sciences); Modul C (Arts and Humanities); The procedures for developing didactic activities of facultative and complementary courses and the registration of evaluation results in Diploma Suplement are made according to Regulamentul de activitate profesională a studenţilor şi în Regulamentul privitor la elaborarea planurilor de învăţământ pentru programele de studiu din UVT. 3 GRADUATE CONDITIONS FOR THE NEXT YEAR OF STUDY. MANDATORY CONDITIONS TO PROMOTE/GRADUATE A YEAR OF STUDY. These conditions are provided by Regulamentul privind activitatea profesională a studenţilor. 4 GRADUATE EXAM The period to made the graduate project: the starting of the 5th semester. Research project completion: the end of the last semester. The scheduled program to present the graduate research project: in the session of june-july of the last year of study. The credits number in assessing the fundamental and specialized knowledge and for presenting the graduate research project: 15 credits added to the achived number of 180 credits).
