The four topics covered are: principles and theories of electrochemistry. principles of thermochemistry, kinetics and equilibrium. properties and reactions of organic and inorganic materials. applications needed to solve quantitative chemical problems. SUGGESTED FOUNDATION SUBJECT YR 11 None Science Week The course has case study worth 15%, which can be done in a group or by yourself. You will study the following topics: Development, interpretation and evaluation of experiments and practical activities. Application and impact of environmental science on society. Ecological processes. Changes in ecosystems, locally and globally. Human dependence and impact on ecosystems. Principles for ecologically sustainable management of the environment. Is thefoundation subject for Biology 3 Science competitions Science week Life Science 2 is designed to give students who have an interest in biology a foundation for Biology 3 or as a stand alone level 2 subject. You will: Study a diverse range of topics, including: 1. Environment and biodiversity 2. Cells, tissues, organs, systems of plants and animals 3. Biochemistry of the human body 4. Genetics 5. Impact of technology on us and our world Undertake a 10 hour investigation on a topic of interest Go on excursions to investigate real ecosystems eg Low Head tidal zone I enjoyed being a part of Life Science 2 as it has a great atmosphere and it helps students like myself, who wish to develop an understanding of biology before doing Biology 3 in year 12.
