2 STEREEMISTRY F TETRAEDRAL ENTERS Bottom Line: ne consequence of tetrahedral geometry is an internal asymmetry which occurs whenever there are four different substituents arranged around a tetrahedral center. STEREEMISTRY F TETRAEDRAL ENTERS A carbon which is attached to four different substituents is called a chiral carbon, and a pair of non-superimposible mirror images are called enantiomers.
