Course Objectives: The objective of the course is to develop the interest among the students regarding chemistry and their applications in engineering. The student should understand the concepts of chemistry to lay the groundwork for subsequent studies in the fields such as chemical, mechanical, civil, environmental, electrical and electronics engineering etc. To train the students to effectively use the knowledge of electrochemistry, battery technology, corrosion science, metal finishing, chemical fuels, instrumental methods of analysis, polymers, water chemistry, nano chemistry in the practice of engineering. To develop an intuitive understanding of chemistry by emphasizing the related branches of engineering. To develop confidence among students about chemistry, how the knowledge of chemistry is applied in technological field.
