7 Where to get help? Chemistry Resource Room Tutors everyday Instrument Room Organic chemistry (IR, 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR) Professor/TA office hours
8 Outside of class Research CHEM 294 (freshmen/sophomore) CHEM 494 (junior/senior) 1 credit: 4-5 hrs in the lab 2 credit 8-10 hrs in the lab Recommend: Don t rush into research, make sure you meet the professor and are comfortable with him/her. Do something you re interested in. American Chemical Society (ACS)
9 Preparing for the summer Career Fair: Internships is an opportunity offered by an employer to potential employees, called "interns", to work at a firm for a fixed, limited period of time (couple of months long). Externships a temporary training program in a workplace, especially one offered to students as part of a course of study (couple of days long). Co-op is a type of internship program that enables college students to receive career training with pay as they work with professionals in their major fields of study (typically 2 semesters long).
10 After Graduation Grad School Find your interest. Medical, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Nursing, etc Prepare early for MCAT/DAT/PCAT. Corporate World Best if you had an internship with that company.
