2 DECIDUOUS FOREST DESCRIPTION The Deciduous Forest is a biome that is found throughout many parts of the world. It can be found on the Eastern side of North America (where we are in the United States,) in parts of Europe, and in many different parts of Asia. Overall, this biome is very large with different zones. The zones represent the different wildlife and trees. The climate is very important in this biome. The Deciduous Forest has a temperate biome, meaning the weather patterns are very balanced. This means that it has all 4 seasons, which is super awesome! It experiences: summer, winter, spring, and fall. The summer months are warm and the winter months are much cooler. On average, Deciduous Forests have around inches of rain per year.

3 Deciduous Forest: Plants There are many different species of plants in the Deciduous Forest Biome. Some of them are: -American Beech Trees -Common Lime Trees- they are very tall -Lady Ferns -Pecan Trees -White Oak Trees *The trees of this biome have leaves! The leaves drop in winter and regrow in spring.

4 Deciduous Forest: Animals There are many different species of animals in the Deciduous Forest Biome. Some of them are: -the American Bald Eagle- the national symbol of our country! -American Black Bears- omnivores -Duckbill platypus -Least Weasel -White Tailed Deer

5 Deciduous Forest: Abiotic Factors and Interesting Facts Abiotic Factors of the Deciduous Forest: 1. fertile/rich soil with nutrients 2. precipitation (snow in winter) 3. freshwater rivers Interesting Facts: 1. Some animals that live in Deciduous Forests hibernate during Winter months. 2. Some of the tallest trees in the Deciduous Forest are over 275 feet tall! 3. Most humans populate (live here) more than any other biome!
