Describe how a protomephridial system functions. Give an example of an organism that uses this type of excretory system. 6. Explain how the metanephridial excretory tubule functions and describe any structural advances over a protonephridial system. Give an example of an organism that uses each system. 7. Explain how the Malpighian tubule excretory system functions. Give an example of an organism that has this type of excretory system.
