1 2017 February Celestial Timings The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking. I wish I could show you, When you are lonely or in Darkness The astonishing light of your own being ~Hafiz It is not that I'm so smart. I just stay with the questions much longer. ~ Both Above Quotes by Albert Einstein If you have good and loving thoughts for someone, you are not only sending uplifting and harmonizing messages to that person you are also benefitting from those thoughts. This helps repair any short circuits that may exist in the universal grid of communication. When the main water pipe of a town becomes obstructed, all the homes are left without this life-giving nutrient. In a similar way, a congested universal communication system prevents constructive energy from penetrating the collective consciousness of society and interrupts the flow of universal energy to you and your environment. It is up to each one of us to maintain or strengthen our links with nature and our fellow human beings. By sincerely wishing them greater material and spiritual wealth, we automatically open our doors to receive the same or more. Because of our intent to give something from our heart, we connect automatically to the circuit of love, wealth and happiness. This allows us to draw from the very same source and become more loving, generous and happy ourselves. In other words, what you wish unto yourself, first wish unto others. ~An excerpt from It s Time To Come Alive by Andreas Moritz Love multiplies as does Hate when we feed it our energy. Our opportunity in this time of so much hate and meanness in the world is to find ways to energize and magnify Love. ~ Cayelin Castell A New World Is Already Being Created In these confusing and sometimes discouraging times it is helpful to have moments and experiences that connect us to hope and inspiration. I am grateful I have had that experience in the last weekend of January. I was in an arena of 20,000 or so people who are inspired by a vision that can not only help each one of us personally but also all of us collectively - disrupting the path of self-destruction we as a culture appear to be headed towards January Celestial Timings by Cayelin K Castell cayelincastell.com Page 1
2 This is about a vision for a New World (New Earth) that supports and includes everyone economically, socially, physically, and with complete diversity and inclusiveness. This is Not just about the greedy few with the money, resources and power to influence politics and culture to favor them while disregarding others and the planet for their own financial profit. This is about how to have more FUN while creating a new reality that serves everyone. I am so inspired by the possibilities I have seen and seeing how truly, if we are working together for the greater good of everyone we can change this reality so everyone has the opportunity to experience Fun, Freedom and Fulfillment. If you are interested in knowing more or want to be part of this revolutionary vision - contact me at cayelink@gmail.com and I will be happy to share it with you. Stars worth noting in the February Night Sky This month Procyon and Sirius are the two bright stars in the eastern sky after Sunset. Procyon (11 light years from Earth) is the star known as "before the dog" rising just before the dog star Sirius (8 light years from Earth) our brightest fixed star. Look for Sirius to the lower left of the three stars of Orion's belt. Also prominent is the bright red star known as Betelguese marking the shoulder of Orion. All three stars, Procyon, Sirius and Betelguese form a perfect equilateral triangle known to some cultures as Heaven s Gate where souls enter this dimension. The zodiacal light is a faint, roughly triangular, whitish glow seen in the night sky appearing to extend up from the vicinity of the Sun along the ecliptic or zodiac. In mid-northern latitudes, the zodiacal light is best observed in the western sky in the spring after the evening twilight has completely disappeared, or in the eastern sky in the autumn just before the morning twilight appears. It is so faint that it is completely masked by either moonlight or light pollution. This is an eclipse month. On February 10 at 4:33 pm there is deep penumbra eclipse of the Moon visible for viewers in the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia. On February 26 there is annular Solar Eclipse visible in Argentina and the 2017 January Celestial Timings by Cayelin K Castell cayelincastell.com Page 3
4 South Atlantic to Angola and Zambia. Venus places in the west for a few hours after sunset at greatest brilliancy of this year. Mars follows Venus fairly closely down to the horizon they'll much less bright. By late February Jupiter very close to Spica is rising before Mars and shining prominently the rest of the night. Saturn comes up well before dawn while Mercury rises is low in the East at dawn until it disappears from the Morning Sky around February 24. Venus dominates the sky in the WSW (West South West) and maybe even visible in the daylight around its highest point due south and midafternoon. Venus may even be so bright shadows are cast - particularly if you're in an area where there is snow. Venus reaches its highest altitude in this evening star cycle of 40 on February 3 as seen from about 40 north latitude. Although Venus only declines about 32 at sunset by the end of the month, the interval between sunset and Venus set shrinks about 45 minutes from 3.5 hours to 2.7 hours. Feb 1 Mars is easy to find to the upper left of Mars fades from a +1.1 magnitude to a +1.3 magnitude over this month. Venus reaches within 5.4 West of Mars on February 1 but doesn t catch up to Mars due to the slowing of Venus as she prepares to station retrograde on March 4. A classic conjunction is considered to happen when two planets come within 5 of each other without coming together exactly. In Shamanic Astrology we perceive Venus and Mars to be conjunct when they are within 10 degrees. Astronomers call anything over 5 a quasi-conjunction. By the end of February Venus and Mars are about 12 apart. Mars is setting about 20 minutes after Venus as February begins as seen from mid-northern latitudes and about 15 minutes after Venus at the end of February. On February 26 Mars passes 0.6 NNW of sixth magnitude Uranus. No bright stars are that close to Mars that night. Jupiter rises in the east about 11 pm as February opens and rises around 9 pm as February ends. Jupiter brightens from magnitude to -2.3 in the morning sky. Jupiter is reaching up perihelion or furthest from the Sun on February 17. This is the furthest Jupiter has been from the Sun in 12 years. Jupiter is also hanging with Spica. On February 5 Jupiter is reversing Direction or going retrograde. Jupiter comes within 4 due north of Spica on February 23. Saturn rises before Jupiter reaches the Meridian in the morning sky January Celestial Timings by Cayelin K Castell cayelincastell.com Page 4
5 Saturn at +0.5 magnitude is about 20 to the left of Antares. This means Saturn is brighter than Antares a star that shines at about +1.1 magnitude. Mercury brightens in magnitude from -0.2 to -1.2 visible low on the ESE horizon in the early morning sky rising later each mornings. Waxing Crescent Moon is to the upper left of Venus and Mars at dusk on February 1 first after hanging right in their midst on January 31. The waxing Gibbous Moon occults Aldebaran for the 27 th time in this series of 49. The Full Moon hangs below Regulus before sunrise on February 11 and then to lower left of Regulus by that evening. The waning Gibbous Moon is to upper right of Saturn on the morning of February 20. February 28, the waxing crescent lingers some 10 to the lower left of Venus. Due to rapidly changing circumstances the Daily Timings did not come together this month. I am excited to share more about new developments in the March Timings that will help explain what has been changing and expanding in my world. Meanwhile, here are the February Celestial events listed on a daily basis. Daily February 2017 Timings All times are PST unless otherwise noted Note you can also find great insights about what is happening each day in the sky on the Shamanic Astrology Mystery School Facebook Page. February 01, Wednesday. The Moon has now moved beyond Venus (28 Pisces 16') and Mars (03 Aries 11'). As mentioned in the introduction of Venus and Mars begin this month with in just over 5 of each other. Venus is slowing to stations retrograde on March 4 so never quite catches all the way up to Mars. This encounter a Venus and Mars in their sacred dance finds that the fiery independent Venus in Leo Goddess who does not need anyone to complete her, is connecting with the fiery Mars in Sagittarius God on his quest for truth and meaning that expands consciousness to its widest possible experience. He also does not need anyone to complete him. What they might find is a great adventure in discovering the truth of their divine essence. February 02, Thursday. Groundhog Day. The Moon catches up to Uranus (21 Aries 05') at 2:30 am illuminating the cosmic perspective in ways we may not expect.
