THE CELESTIAL STAR CHART AT TEOTIHUACÁN By David B. Brown PSALMS 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament sheweth His handywork. TEOTIHUACÁN IS THE MOST VISITED ANCIENT SITE IN THE WESTERN HEMISPHERE. TEOTIHUACÁN IS LOCATED ABOUT 40 KILOMETERS NORTHEAST OF MEXICO CITY. IT IS NOT A BOOK OF MORMON CITY. HOWEVER, IT WAS BUILT BY PEOPLE WHO WERE DESCENDANTS OF THE JAREDITE (OLMEC) CULTURE IN LATE 2009, ARCHAEOLOGIST NEIL STEEDE AND I WERE WORKING ON RESEARCH TO IDENTIFY THE CELESTIAL PHENOMENON KNOWN AS THE BETHLEHEM STAR WE BEGAN FOCUSING ON A BOOK PUBLISHED BY DAVID HUGHES IN 1979 WHERE HE STUDIED ALL OF THE KNOWN CELESTIAL PHENOMENA BETWEEN 10 BC AND 9 AD 1
THE STAR OF BETHLEHEM MYSTERY INVESTIGATED COMETS, ECLIPSES, METEOR SHOWERS, CONJUNCTIONS AND SUPERNOVAS. THE CONCLUSION DRAWN BY MR. HUGHES WAS THAT THE BEST CANDIDATE FOR THE BETHLEHEM STAR IS THE 7 BC TRIPLE- CONJUNCTION OF JUPITER AND SATURN THE REASONING FOR HIS CONCLUSION IS THAT THE BETHLEHEM STAR HAD TO MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA: 1. HAD TO APPEAR IN THE EAST. 2. HAD TO LAST LONG ENOUGH FOR PEOPLE TO TRAVEL GREAT DISTANCES WHILE FOLLOWING THE STAR. 3. HAD TO APPEAR & DISAPPEAR (MATTHEW 3:9-10) MATTHEW 3:9 When they had heard the king, they departed; and lo, the star which they saw in the east, went before them, until it came and stood over where the young child was. [10] When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. THE 7 BC TRIPLE-CONJUNCTION OF JUPITER AND SATURN WAS THE ONLY EVENT THAT FULFILLED ALL THE CRITERIA. A CONJUNCTION IS WHEN TWO CELESTIAL BODIES APPEAR SO CLOSE TOGETHER IN THE NIGHT SKY THAT THE LIGHT EMANATING FROM IT APPEARS TO BE ONE LIGHT INSTEAD OF TWO. THIS CONJUNCTION OF JUPITER AND SATURN IN THE CONSTELLATION OF PISCES BEGINS IN FEBRUARY OF 7 BC AND THE PLANETS REMAIN TOGETHER IN PISCES UNTIL FEBRUARY OF 6 BC. 2
THEY BEGIN RISING TOGETHER IN MID-MARCH WITH THE FIRST CONJUNCTION OCCURRING IN MAY, THE SECOND IN SEPTEMBER AND THE FINAL ONE IN DECEMBER. WITH THIS RESEARCH MATERIAL AT THE FOREFRONT OF OUR MINDS, WE VISITED TEOTIHUACÁN IN MARCH OF 2010 AND THAT IS WHEN WE MADE A STARTLING DISCOVERY. Pyramid of the Moon Plaza of the Moon HERE IS THE SEMINAL QUESTION: Pyramid of the Sun Avenue of the Dead San Juan Canal WHAT IF TEOTIHUACÁN REPRESENTS THE CELESTIAL EVENT THAT IS KNOWN AS THE BETHLEHEM STAR? 8 AS PROPHECY GIVEN FIVE YEARS PRIOR TO THE BIRTH OF CHRIST SAMUEL THE LAMANITE PROVIDES THIS: And behold, this will I give unto you for a sign at the time of his coming; for behold, there shall be great lights in heaven, insomuch that in the night before he cometh, there shall be no darkness, insomuch that it shall appear unto man as if it was day; (Helaman 5:56) Therefore there shall be one day and a night, and a day, as if it were one day, and there were no night; and this shall be unto you for a sign; for ye shall know of the rising of the sun, and also of its setting; (Helaman 5:57) THEN FIVE YEARS LATER SOME OF THE BELIEVERS WERE ROUNDED UP AND PROVIDED WITH AN OPPORTUNITY TO RECANT THEIR FAITH OR DIE FOR IT. NEPHI, THE SON OF NEPHI THE MISSIONARY, PROVIDES THIS RECORD: 8
And it came to pass that he cried mightily unto the Lord, all that day; and behold, the voice of the Lord came unto him, saying, Lift up your head and be of good cheer, for behold, the time is at hand, and on this night shall the sign be given, (III Nephi 1:12) And on the morrow come I into the world, to show unto the world that I will fulfill all that which I have caused to be spoken by the mouth of my holy prophets. (III Nephi 1:13) For behold at the going down of the sun, there was no darkness; and the people began to be astonished, because there was no darkness when the night came. (III Nephi 1:17) THIS IS THE ONLY CONJUNCTION INVOLVING JUPITER, SATURN AND A FULL MOON THAT LASTS THE ENTIRE NIGHT IN THE WESTERN HEMISPHERE. AND, THIS CONJUNCTION OF JUPITER AND SATURN WITH THE FULL MOON IS NOT RECORDED IN THE EASTERN HEMISPHERE BECAUSE THIS EVENT OCCURS ONLY IN THE WESTERN HEMISPHERE. BY THE TIME THE EARTH REVOLVES THE NIGHT SKY TO THE EASTERN HEMISPHERE, THE FULL MOON, JUPITER AND SATURN HAVE SEPARATED FROM THEIR TIGHT CONFIGURATION. 9
THIS IS THE POINT WHERE WE REALLY BEGAN TO RESEARCH THE POSSIBILITY THAT THE ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN AT TEOTIHUACÁN GIVES SPECIFIC INFORMATION AND WE FOUND THAT THIS THEORY SEEMED TO WORK ON SEVERAL LEVELS. Jupiter Saturn of Moon Conjunction Timeline Horizon Earth South of Christ Child 10
South of On the evening of September 8, 7 BC the Sun set 7 5 of West A Sun 7 5 West South And 25 minutes later the Moon rose 8 35 South of A Sun 7 5 West 8 35 K Moon A Sun 7 5 West K Moon South South 11
So, if the Pyramid of the Sun represents the position of the Moon, then it is facing to indicate that the Sun set of where the Moon rose. South of This means that the orientation of the Pyramid of the Sun is demonstrating the relationship of the Sun with the Moon. The source of light is the Sun which the Moon reflects into our night. South of This fits very well with the aspect of the Moon representing the role of Christ who came to do His Father s will and to reflect that will into our human experience. South of of of Is it possible that the angle demonstrates the triangular relationship when these planets rose in the eastern sky? 12
If it is the case that we are able to validate that the position of the pyramids are representing planetary alignments, can we also find validation for the Avenue of the Dead as a timeline? of 7559 Ft 7546 Ft 7539 Ft 7527 Ft 7520 Ft 7514 Ft 7505 Ft Above Sea Level 13
Full Moon 9/8/07 BC Acronychal Rising Moon 8/13/07 BC Moon 7/16/07 BC Moon 06/19/07 BC Moon 05/22/07 BC What is the purpose for this three-pyramid plaza that empties into the second sunken plaza on the Avenue of the Dead? Does this three-pyramid structure indicate the timeframe when the Three Wisemen began to follow the star event? If so, why here in the Americas? There are inscriptions at Palenque telling of three gods who follow a sky event to present gifts to a baby god. Is this the story of the Three Wisemen found in the Book of Matthew? If so, then the Three Wisemen began their trek during the month of May in 7 BC. Full Moon 9/8/07 BC Moon 8/13/07 BC Acronychal Rising Moon 7/16/07 BC Moon 06/19/07 BC Moon 05/22/07 BC And what about the north end of the Avenue of the Dead? What might it represent concerning the timeline of the conjunction? There are 12 satellite pyramids around the central altar. Can this represent the Wisemen arriving at the land of twelve tribes to present their gifts? 14
THERE IS AN AMAZING BODY OF EVIDENCE THAT THE LAYOUT OF THE STRUCTURES NORTH OF THE SAN JUAN CANAL ARE DEMONSTRATING THE CELESTIAL EVENT OF THE 7 BC JUPITER/SATURN CONJUNCTION. THIS EVENT MUST HAVE BEEN VERY IMPORTANT FOR A SOCIETY TO INVEST SO MUCH OF THEIR TIME, TALENT AND TREASURE. THIS HAD TO BE A MESSAGE THAT THEY REGARDED AS SACRED. AND, WE FIND BOOK OF MORMON SCRIPTURE THAT SPECIFICALLY MENTIONS A CELESTIAL PHENOMENA THAT OCCURRED THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRIST WAS BORN. THE ORIENTATIONS AND POSITIONS OF THE STRUCTURES FIT THIS NIGHT EXACTLY. FOR US WHO HAVE DONE THE RESEARCH, THERE IS NO DOUBT. THIS IS A TESTIMONY OF THE DAY THAT CHRIST WAS BORN; SEPTEMBER 9, 7 BC. THE NEXT TWO PRESENTATIONS WILL FURTHER ILLUSTRATE HOW ALL OF THE STRUCTURES ALONG THE AVENUE OF THE DEAD TESTIFY TO THE BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST AND TO HIS ULTIMATE PURPOSE.
