10 ي Abstract Abo Al-Qasim Ash-Shabbi`s Poetry from the Reception Theory Perspective Prepared by Alaa` Dawood Muhammad Naji Supervisor Dr Muhammad Khaleel Al-Khalayleh This study aims to read the divan of Al-Shabbi & particularly "The Songs of Life" Is an intelligible reading according to concepts & according to terminology It also aims to analyze, interpret the text & search for unexpected impressions ( effects ) The study also divides to four chapters with conclusions Chapter one Deals with the essential of the study Reasons behind choosing this subject The problem, the aim & the brief survey about previous effort Chapter two Includes two parts Part one Deals with the life of Al-Shabbi`s paradoxes, characteristics, of his personality, his trend & critics views Part two Deals with the theoretical aspects of the Reception Theory & his views in Classical Arabic heritage & modern criticism

11 ك Chapter three Includes the practical part & involves two parts Part one Deals with the "ego& the other ", in the divan Part two Deals with well-formed & deviates linguistic forms the expected & the unexpected such as Repetition, contrast, & metaphorical figures of speech Chapter four Involves also two parts Part one Is an analysis the text "Life`s Well" Part two Is-an in fact-analysis the text "Beneath the Branches" The researcher ended the study with conclusions & recommendations for further study
